Nursing Assistant (DSP)

Expectation: 

 

To work under the LPN to help coordinate all medical aspects of the clients served; monitoring and assuring compliance with ICF/IDD and licensure standards in all settings. Participate in the interdisciplinary process and provide staff training. Implement active treatment programs with residents, coordinate residents’ needs on a day-to-day basis, keep careful documentation of program success/failure and provide residents a relationship model with which they can create a family unit.

Specific Areas of Responsibility:

​

  • Share On-Call responsibilities with LPN

  • Participate in quarterly and annual client reviews as needed

  • See each client weekly

  • Physical assessments quarterly and as needed

  • Administer TB vaccinations to staff and clients

  • Participate in manager and house meetings

  • Medication Exchange/Pharmacy reviews

  • Audits/Medication Counts

  • Running appointments and/or helping with appointments when needed

  • Instruct medication Inservice (Core A and Core B)

  • Client Safety

  • Active treatment

  • Involve and train people we serve in daily activities

  • Transportation of Clients to community resources, including routine lab & medical appointments

  • Assistance with completion; of all aspects of activities of daily living (ADL’s)

  • Cooking

  • Cleaning

  • Medication Administration

  • Data collection of program goals & behavior tracking

  • Ability to work with others to benefit Client needs

  • Ability to participate in individual and group activities to promote a positive and caring home environment

  • All other responsibilities as assigned

Position Requirements:

​

​Medical Assistant certification required. All positions at Corvilla, Inc. require that employees are free from all felonies, have a valid driver’s license, and the employee must be insurable by our insurance carrier.  Must possess quality domestic skills, good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.  This position requires employees to be even tempered and patient.  Employees will become certified in First Aid, CPR and Medication Administration.
