Associate Director

The Employment Services Associate Director is responsible for assisting with oversight of a large department providing services to individuals with disabilities. We provide services in Elkhart and St. Joe counties to adults and youth by assisting them with determining and achieving their employment/education goals. Providing support and education to local businesses regarding hiring an individual with a disability is also a critical part of this job. Travel within the two counties is required with generous mileage reimbursement provided.

 

REQUIRMENTS:

  • Provide assistance and input to the directors in making key decisions concerning the department

  • Responsible for mentoring/modeling best practices for all staff in the department

  • Responsible for daily operations in directors absence

  • Provide employment services to individuals with disabilities, including career exploration, discovery services, job development, job matching, job training, and retention services.

  • Maintain accurate and thorough forms, records and reports as required. Process billing claims for the department

  • Provide transportation and personal assistance to consumers as needed and approved, to achieve employment and retention goals.

  • Function with a flexible work schedule that is constantly altered due to consumer/employer needs.

  • Demonstrate skill in assessing and meeting the needs of the business community and referred individuals.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of, or ability to learn about services, resources, and regulations related to achieving employment outcomes to include Social Security, Medicaid, and other related services as appropriate.

  • Ability to work with consumers experiencing a diverse range of abilities.

  • Provide coverage for other staff as schedule dictates.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Requires considerable local travel to a variety of job sites and meeting locations.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

General office equipment, computer, cell phone, other forms of technology as needed to assist clients and perform a job. Operates personal vehicles.
